Neighborhood.

Saturday it snowed, and snowed, and snowed. It was a winter wonderland. Luckily we have great neighbors. We started off by going over to the Kelly's Kd Christmas party. Kekoa decorated cookies, made a reindeer candy dish and some reindeer food to sprinkle on the lawn on Christmas eve. (Good job Amber on the party) Then we didn't have anything else to do so we just stayed and visited for most of the day, ordering pizza to be delivered...sorry delivery driver lady. After lunch we went outside and played in the snow, which was about 8in or so by this time. All our neighbor friends came out and played. We decided since the Brown's were not going to be having there Bunco party due to the weather we would all just have it over at our house with each other. It was a BLAST!
It is a great feeling to have neighbors you are your friends too! I love my neighborhood, not many people can say that. I enjoy being stuck at home knowing there are lots of friends around I can call if I need anything or just want to have the kids play so the adults can have a break. To all my Sandra Loop Neighbors...Thank you!

Snowday!

Day for Christmas tree.

Thanksgiving.

This is our kind of Thanksgiving, Camping at South Beach. We gathered in my parents 5th wheel for our feast. Ham, potato's, green beans...the works. Yummy!
Once again we had a nice November weekend. A little rain but sunshine too.

I Love the bridge in the background of this pic of Kekoa and his cousins:)

Crazy Weekend!

This was a crazy busy weekend! Friday I helped at school, went to salon to take a pic of all of us for some ad's we are doing and then went to dinner for Kehau's birthday at Buffalo Wild Wings. Saturday we got up early and took the tailgate goods to Steve and Brenda, did some grocery shopping, came home and loaded the trailer to get ready for camping over Thanksgiving at South beach. We then went to Don and Frances to celebrate Kehau's Birthday again with dinner over there. Then today (Sunday) I went back downtown Portland to the camera class Frances and I are taking, it was BORING today! When I got home I loaded some more stuff in the trailer and we had to go to the store again for camping food. I then was off to Stacey Ackermans house for a girls night of BUNCO, yes we are officially like our parents playing bunco. I think the last time I played was when I was a "sub" for my moms friends when I was little. We had such a fun time! I am excited to play again. The best part of the night was when Sarah broke the 'booby' prize...Amy was so excited to get her 1st Christmas decoration, the booby prize snow globe. A pretty reindeer in a glittery globe, until Sarah tried to steal it. As she was leaving she put her purse (globe inside) on her shoulder and...CRASH! The globe falls out onto the hardwood floor and shatters everywhere! A glitter wet mess. We cleaned it up, laughing hard about the whole thing, but sadly Amy now has a sad Christmas Greyhound.

Oh girls, thanks for a good laugh and a great end to a busy weekend:)

Salon website.

Because I never give myself enough things to do, I made a salon website today for Healthy Look. (Where I am working.) We have been slow with everyone pinching pennies so we are trying to do everything we can to generate business. It is still under construction but you can take a look in the meantime. I would love to here feedback. I have never done a website before, it takes a lot of time! Hopefully it will be worth the work:)

Oregon vs. Stanford.

As some of you might know we were able to get season tickets to the Oregon Ducks Football, thanks to Steve Sobella. We love to be season ticket holders. Our life revolves around duck football. Thanks to our family watching Kekoa, we get to go as a couple as much as our schedules allow. We Love It! Even though it was raining this last weekend, and the ducks played like crap, we won the game against Stanford. Our seats are under cover just enough we didn't get too wet when it was pouring out!The rain was really coming down here.

Halloween weekend.

It was a Halloween weekend. My mom took Kekoa trick or treating in our neighborhood. Over the years Kekoa has not loved going trick or treating. Last year he went to 6 houses and then he told us he has enough candy and wanted to go home. This year he said he would be going to 7 houses. He ended up taking "Nama" to about 10 houses or so, just our loop in the hood. Kai and I on the other hand ran out of candy to give out by 7:00. Next year I will be more prepared.

Saturday we had a small get together. Costumes optional.
It was a great time with friends and family!
Of course we were "King and Queen"

Field Trip.

Yesterday we went to the pumpkin patch with Kekoa's kindergarten class. (I still have a head ache.) I was assigned 3 other boys, with Kekoa, in my group. They were good boys, but I realized how hard it is keeping 4 little boys in one area so they don't get into trouble. It makes me grateful to only having one. Here are some pics.

Boys will be Boys!Kekoa coming out of the Hay stack.

nemo ride

Disneyland 2

HOME!

Home. Its good to be home. But not ready for vacation to end. The last half of our Disneyland trip was fun. Kekoa started to "kinda" like the rides. He got his train he wanted for going on the rides I said he had to try. He liked some, but most he said he didn't.
We are all so tired from our busy Disneyland experience. I'm ready to get a little rest:) our flight left Orange County at 7:35pm Tuesday night...making the plane land at PDX at 9:50pm. Makes for a late night. Julie picked all of us up from the airport, since she has the suburban. As we were almost to Don and Frances house Kekoa got sick, I mean throwing up in his hands sick! Poor kid. He woke up Tue. morning with a tummy ache but he seemed fine, until the car ride. After dropping My Dad off at home, with more puking, we finally got home at about 11pm... then we made Kekoa a bed next to ours, puke bowl included, and went to bed. Kekoa woke up tired but not sick and went to school with a smile on his face.
We had a great time in Disneyland, we wish my mom could have come though, it just wasn't the same without her.

First 2 days in Disneyland...

Kekoa loved the plane ride, we checked into the Disney Hotel and off we went into Disneyland. Our first ride was the train that takes you around the park.
We went into toontown hoping Kekoa would ride a something. But he didn't. We did go to see Micky though.

Day 2

We headed out early, 8am. Kekoa wanted to ride the monorail, so we did, we got off in tomorrow land and were ready to get in line for nemo but it wasn't running...dang. So we spent about an hour looking for something Kekoa would do. He doesn't want to go on anything "scary". We were stopped in front of the castle where a cast member took our pic. She then asked us if Kekoa would like to help Micky conduct his band...exciting! but he didn't want to and said "no thank you". We were all bumbed he didn't do this but what can you do if he doesn't want to do it.
He finally started going on rides...he ended up LOVING Dumbo.Kekoa set this self timer up...good one:)

We went back to the hotel about 3ish and went swimming. Kekoa's fav. part so far. After cooling off we went back to our room to rest, thinking kekoa would nap...nope, we all took naps BUT him! We also did our Mickey's trick or treat party, Kekoa fell asleep on our way to it at 7pm. I will blog that soon, Im going to bed now...I got to go to see Goofy tomorrow for breakfast:)

Busy weekend:)

It was a busy weekend getting everything done for Christy and Billy's reception.
It turned out to be a beautiful fall day. The evening was a little bit on the chilly side but we just put on our boots and coats and dance the night away:) Kekoa danced so much he fell asleep in NAMA'S lap at 9:00!
Here is the happy groom.
Yep, my bro and I dancing... Ashley is taking the pic.
And just a few of the last "party girls."
It was so much fun. I know how hard I worked to help get everything ready for this day so I know how hard Christy and Billy must have worked to put together this beautiful reception!
It was worth all the work!
Christy, Thank you for being such an important person in my life.
You deserve much happiness! I love you, BFF!

Disappointing.

I am still stressed out about my mom not getting to go to Disneyland. I'm asking everyone to pray that she will get the time off, even if its the last minute. My dad is still going to go. My mom doesn't want him to miss out because she has to work. I still cant believe this! On top of of it all Robbie, Kaimi's step brother who lives in Arizona, and his girlfriend were going to meet us in Disneyland for the weekend. But they just broke up so they are not coming either. It is so disappointing. I know we will still have fun, but when you plan a vacation in April you don't think things will full apart two weeks before you leave.

SO ANGRY!

I am so angry! We (Kaimi, Kekoa, and I and My mom and dad and Kaimi's Dad and step mom) leave for Disneyland in 14 days and My mom was given a notice at work (OC Transportation) yesterday, October 1 that no one can take any vacation days, no exceptions. She called me last night to tell me about it and said she was going to talk to her boss today to see if this included her. She got the OK for this in April 2008. Believe me, we would not have spent this much money if we didn't know if she could get the vacation! She went to talk to her boss today and they said "sorry, you cant go." WE LEAVE IN 14 DAYS PEOPLE! How can you do this! I know she is upset about this and I am trying not to let her know how freaking upset I am about it! I don't want to go without my parents. I know I'm 32 years old but I want my parents at Disneyland with me and my family. We planned the trip because we all wanted to go together. It isn't about the money its about being with the people you love. I want my parents there to see Kekoa at Disneyland.
Life is short, experience it before its too late!

addiction.

I think this blog just might be my new addiction. I feel like I am adding and changing things and I have hardly written blogs. I will get to it in time, right:) It was fun making a play list though. Thank you Heather for telling me how to get it on my blog.

Newbe.

I am new to the elementary school mom thing. I have no Idea where things are, what I am suppose to do, where my boundaries are as "mom"...etc. I do feel better after meeting Kekoa's Teachers at open house last night but I do not like feeling this way! I wish I could just walk in an know exactly what to do and what my role is, I am not liking the newbe thing!

First blog!

I'm not sure if it is because I have watched too much TV that has people blogging or I just need something, besides Myspace, to let family and friends in on whats going on at our house. Our life, combined with everyone's, is so hectic that I wanted to simplify things. So I am here telling everyone what goes on at the Lycett house.

Kekoa is five now and the things hes says and does makes me smile. I want to share that with you. For example...

I picked up the neighborhood kids at the bus stop this afternoon, normal Tuesday, but today Kekoa saw Pierce outside. (neighbor kid, one of his BFF's) Pierce has been out of town for a couple of weeks, Kekoa has missed him. But he was home and this is what was said...

(kekoa)"Pierce! How was your bacationg?" (not a spelling error that's how he said it)

(Pierce) "It was good"

(Kekoa) "I missed you! Come here and give me a Hug"

(kekoa runs over to pierces house, they hug, Kekoa tryes to pick up Pierce with his hug, and they both fall down in the grass)

(Pierce) "I missed you too"

It was so cute watching the two of them. I know how special a neighbor friend is, I still am very close to my Neighborhood friend from childhood. Although now we drink wine and talk about life, I remember playing horses and eating string cheese.

Funny how watching Kekoa with his BFF makes me think of my childhood and still BFF! (Love you Jess:)
